The triple crown is back for 2020. Join us at Argyll, MMX and The Oatfield. Thursday gates are open from 4pm-9pm for overnight camping. Camping is free. Friday is practice. Gates are open from 7am-9pm. Practice from 8am-2pm. Racing Registration opens from 11am-2pm. Saturday and Sunday race days. Gates open from 6:30am-9pm. Each Triple Crown race is open to both colts and fillies.Although fillies have won each of the individual Triple Crown races, none has won the Triple Crown itself. Despite attempts to develop a 'Filly Triple Crown' or a 'Triple Tiara' for fillies only, no set series of three races has consistently remained in the public eye, and at least four different types of races have been used. Typically the toughest, longest test of the Triple Crown at 1 1/2 miles — aka 'The Test of the Champion' — the Belmont Stakes is now the shortest race of the three at 1 1/8 miles to adjust to.

The Iowa Greyhound Park features live greyhound racing and simulcasting from both greyhound and horse tracks across the country.
Its location built along the Mississippi River in Dubuque, Iowa is home to live greyhound racing May thru October, and attracts bettors from all around the Tri-State area.
Built in 1984, Dubuque Greyhound Park was the very first not-for-profit racetrack in the country, with all the profits earmarked for local charitable distribution.
New legislation was passed in early 2014, allowing the Iowa Greyhound Association to take control of The Iowa Greyhound Park formerly Dubuque Greyhound Park and will be operating the simulcasting and live racing operations.
What Are The 3 Triple Crown Races

The Palm Beach Kennel Club offers year-round greyhound racing and simulcast action. Children are allowed at the track if accompanied by a parent or guardian of legal age. However, they are not allowed in the Poker Room or near betting windows.
Southland Casino Racing opened its doors for the first time in 1956. For many years, the greyhounds raced only seasonally from approximately April until October. As the popularity of the live greyhound races grew, especially during the late 1980's, the live greyhound racing season was extended to year-around racing; made possible when the racing surface was fitted with an underground heating system. Southland still holds some of the industry's all time attendance and wagering records. On September 24, 1981, nearly 21,000 people were in attendance, wagering over $1.3 million on that evening's racing performance. Other interesting Southland facts include:
* Southland has one of the largest kennel compounds in the nation. It's twenty-five buildings can hold up to 1,950 greyhounds at any given time.
* Southland is the only racetrack in the nation that conducts nine-dog racing as part of it's live racing programs.
* Southland conducts an average of 6,000 races over the course of a year. We also offer simulcast wagering seven days a week, year-around (except on Christmas and Easter).
* Southland, opened in 1956, is one of the oldest operating greyhound tracks in the nation. Derby Lane (in St. Petersburg, FL) was the oldest, opening in 1925.
* Southland has been home to many greyhound All-American selections over the years.

Triple Crown Race Tracks Location
For the first time in history, the Belmont Stakes ran as the first race in the Triple Crown. The order for 2020 is Belmont Stakes first, Kentucky Derby second and Preakness Stakes last. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Triple Crown 2020 schedule was turned upside down, with the Kentucky Derby moving from May 2 to September 5, the Preakness Stakes shifting from May 16 to October 3 and the Belmont Stakes shifting from June 6 to June 20.
Not only is this the first time the Triple Crown will run in this order, but the turnaround time between each race is also significantly different. Usually, the Kentucky Derby is held on the first Saturday in May, the Preakness Stakes comes two weeks after that and the Belmont Stakes closes out the series three weeks after that. Because the training and prep of racehorses around the world has been disrupted because of the pandemic, the Belmont Stakes, typically the longest of the three races, was shortened from 1 1/2-miles (12 furlongs) to 1 1/8-miles (9 furlongs).
Tiz the Law easily handled a small Belmont Stakes field. He entered the Kentucky Derby as the overwhelming favorite after adding a Travers Stakes win to his resume, but Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert’sAuthentic outlasted a furious stretch duel with Tiz the Law to win the 146th Derby.
Authentic returns to the Triple Crown scene in the Preakness on Oct. 3 (NBC, 4:30 to 6 p.m. ET) but Tiz the Law’s camp is saving him for the Breeders’ Cup Classic in November. Art Collector, a promising Kentucky Derby campaigner who was scratched with a minor injury several days before the Derby, could prove to be Authentic’s biggest competition, and powerhouse filly Swiss Skydiver becomes the first filly to run in the Preakness since 2014.
Who was the last Triple Crown winner?
The most recent Triple Crown winner was Justify, trained by Baffert and ridden by Hall of Fame jockey Mike Smith, in 2018. His win came just three years after Baffert’s American Pharoah won the Triple Crown.
